The Parade is an observance to honor and mourn the US military personnel who have died while serving in the United State Armed Forces. Spectators line the streets in a show of support and to honor the fallen.
Parade Route: The parade starts on Griswold Street and proceeds West on Cady Street, briefly stopping at Oakwood Cemetery. It then proceeds South on First Street, ending at Rural Hill Cemetery where there will be a memorial service.
October in the 'Ville
Northville is the place to be this October! Activities are scheduled throughout the month, with something for everyone! The month starts out with the arrival of 120 life-sized skeletons. On the first Friday of October the "Skeletons are Alive in Downtown" features music, dance, and fun in Town Square. Have your photo taken with your favorite boney friend and post it to the facebook page.
Later in the month Northville is the home to a Costume Parade and downtown Trick-or-Treat event or join us for a Halloween Tea or Corn Maze. We guarantee that you will have a spooktacular October in Northville! For more information visit the calendar section of Northville's website.
Northville Heritage Festival
Held each September in beautiful Downtown Northville, the Northville Heritage Festival celebrates the rich history and small town charm of the Northville community.
Incorporated as a village in 1867, the next ten years saw the founding of the local newspaper, The Northville Record, as well as the first diploma awarded from the local high school and the opening of Parmenter's Cider Mill, a community treasure that sits today on Baseline Road.
For the last 150 years, Northville has written a fascinating history as it's grown into the 21st century, while maintaining a cozy, friendly, community. Much of the city's story is available by speaking with members of the Northville Historical Society and visiting Mill Race Village.
The Heritage Festival, formerly known as the Northville Victorian Festival, provides an opportunity for residents of Northville, both past and present, to reminisce, enjoy and celebrate the wonderful town that we've all called home. It's our pleasure to share our community with visitors who come to shop, dine, attend theaters, work and play.
The Northville Chamber of Commerce presents this yearly festival proudly, and is grateful for our members, neighbors and guests who support our goal of a successful and thriving Northville.
